Dear coder

On the 27th February 2018 Johannes Rieken from the Visual Studio Code Team surrounding Erich Gamma will be diving with us into Visual Studio Code. We’ll learn things about the architecture of Vs Code and much more. Common and join!

We are still looking for interesting short presentations for our usergroup meetings. Short presentations are the ideal format to give away your insights about the latest tools and techniques you use in your daily job. It is also a very good platform to sharpen your presenter skills. Send us an email to urs dot enzler at dotnet-zentral.ch or daniel dot marbach at dotnet-zentral.ch. Take the chance: you can give it in German or English!

Visual Studio Code

I’ll start off by writing a little extension and along the way I’ll explain the architecture and ideas behind Visual Studio Code. Ask me anything! Good questions would be: What are the benefits of TypeScript? What is Electron? What is a language server and how to be extensible but not fragile? There will be no bad questions and hopefully no bad answers.

Johannes Rieken

Johannes Rieken, software engineer at Microsoft, works on Visual Studio Code and loves programming.
